The development of the project of the temporary terminal in International Airport "Kharkiv", reconstructed in preparation for Euro 2012, is finished. The building of the temporary terminal will not only perform the function providing of the established by UEFA airport capacity during the matches of the continental championship, but will become an integral part of the airport complex.
"The draft of the temporary terminal is ready. At our request it has been developed by a company that has designed other objects of the International Airport "Kharkiv" for Euro-2012", - said Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, general coordinator and investor of Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012, DCH Group president, financing construction of new and renovation of the existing passenger airport terminals.
Temporary airport terminal will be a hangar for the storage, survice and repair of aircrafts. In the field of business aviation there is such a practice when the owner of the aircraft drives the car to a hangar and goes to the aircraft, which is taken to the field and he immediately takes off. Hangar will be similar to the airport terminal which has already been built in Kharkiv - a glass facade, the gate on the back side. Behind the facade will be located showroom of companies representing in Ukraine the interests of manufacturers of aircraft and helicopters.
General investor A. Yaroslavskyy told about parameters of the planned construction: "The total area of the temporary terminal will be 5184 sq m, 25% of it will occupy the show-room and 75% - the infrastructure of business aviation. The terminal will operate "in reverse", and its capacity will be 1,000 passengers per hour."
During the International airforum Routes CIS (Kharkiv, June 7-9) Director General of the International Airport "Kharkiv", Volodymyr Vasylchenko said: "A special program of preparation for Euro 2012 takes into account the requirements of UEFA and provides a sufficiently high intensity of traffic - 2500 thousand passengers per hour. Given that by the time the airport "Kharkiv" has three terminals, as well as a simplified border crossing system, its capacity will reach this standard. In particular, a new terminal will give 1300 passengers per hour, 1000 - temporary and 250 - the current existing one. It is quite real."
