Three days in a row the "aerial perspective", including our airport were discussed on the airforum in Kharkiv. Businessmen and officials from 35 countries came on the large-scale event.
The main object, which now attracts the attention of all who has never been in our city - grew out of concrete and glass terminal building with a total area of 20 thousand square meters. Today the new terminal is packed with special equipment, interior work is not finished, but investors promise: all the available flights will be transferred here till the end of the year. In addition, Kharkiv citizens will be able to fly to Paris, Milan, Istanbul and Germany with direct flights.
- After the reconstruction our terminal will be able to take aircrafts from all airports in Europe, the Middle East and from major Russian cities - assured Volodymyr Vasylchenko, director general of the international airport "Kharkiv". - In this, the capacity (a measure that defines convenience) will increase from 100 persons per hour to 800.
Head of the terminal has no doubt that after the "move" all the passengers will enjoy a completely different level of services.
- There will be 12 counters for international flights. The person, after registration and receiving boarding pass, go to the holding area where there will be shops and cafes, recreational facilities for a comfortable waiting time - told Vasylchenko. - And from the beginning of the new year, the reconstruction of the existing, old terminal will begin. The project is still under development and it is primarily a question about the restoration, as it is a monument of architecture.
both the officials, and investors do not exclude that for Euro 2012 the airport will have a new station building for buses and taxis. And now the square in front of the Kharkiv airport can accommodate at least 620 cars and 20 buses.
In addition, the last day of airforum all guests presented sketches of the new uniforms: narrowed skirt and fitted jacket with "winglets" on the back, with the logo of the Kharkiv Airport as a smile in the corner of which there`s a small plane.
- Fly and smile - it's our main massage - assure the organizers of airforum and stress: during the forum there were more than 400 negotiations, which is the great result for CIS countries.
