In coming autumn-winter season International airport “Kharkov” removed restrictions (which were during the airfield reconstruction) for aircraft arrivals and departures under bad weather conditions.

International airport “Kharkov” is all ready for the full-time operating in autumn and winter 2012. It was told by Vladimir Vasilchenko, CEO of New Systems AM (the operator company of International Airport “Kharkov” belongs to DCH group headed by Alexander Yaroslavsky).

“Last year flights according to the winter schedule were operated with some restrictions. It was connected with airfield reconstruction and its preparation for Euro-2012 guests receiving. In that period a huge work was done due to which now we can handle even heavy-weight aircraft and provide high service to air companies (and their clients)”, –  said Vladimir Vasilchenko.

As previously reported, there were 750 take-offs and landings with 52 500 passengers on board from the airport during “Kharkov” matches from the 8th to 18th of June. Letters of thanks and appreciation to Kharkov airport administration were sent by the largest airline companies which served guests of Euro-2012.

The airport reconstruction which included both the building of new terminals and the great improvement of airfield operating allowed the International airport “Kharkov” to expand the geography of direct flights to the most popular resort and business centers of Europe, Africa and Asia from the first capital. Nowadays tens of the largest air carriers of 3 continents cooperate with the airport, and the passenger flow is increasing each month. Famous businessmen, world stars and UEFA organization men mentioned many times that Kharkov airport was the most comfortable air gate among all airports they visited at last time.

International airport “Kharkov” (http://hrk.aero/) – one of the key objects of the capital Slobozhanshchina, reconstructed at the present time in preparation for the finals of European Football Championship in 2012. Start of large-scale project was given on April 1, 2008, when the company “New Systems AM” (a group of DCH, the owner – a well-known Ukrainian businessman, investor and general coordinator of Kharkov’s preparations for Euro 2012, the president of FC “Metalist” Alexander Yaroslavsky) won the competition for long-term rent integral property complex of Kharkov airport. Reconstruction of the International Airport “Kharkov” is in the format of public-private partnership. The total investment in the project by Alexander Yaroslavsky was $ 107.2 million (airport terminal and surrounding areas). The amount of funding allocated from the State budget for the reconstruction of the airport complex (including construction and airfield control tower) – $ 191.3 million.
