The security manoeuvres have been held in Kharkiv airport

On 24th of April in the International airport "Kharkiv" the full-scale manoeuvres to ensure the safety of the passengers have been held. The aim of the event was to test the readiness for the Euro 2012 of the search and rescue flight safety services, the fire safety, the emergency estimations and other units. In addition, during the manoeuvres the abilities of the airport specialists to eliminate the emergencies and incidents were tested, as well as the ability to coordinate with the City Emergency departments and the ambulance services in these situations.

Within the manoeuvres an emergency situation was simulated, in particular, the landing of a plane with the right engine fire (with 5 persons of a crew and 20 passengers). The rescue services have successfully dealt with the task by evacuating people, including six conventionally injured passengers. The specialists of  "New Systems AM" (the operating company of the airport, a part of the DCH group of Aleksander Yaroslavskiy) and of the associated institutions (Ministry of Emergency Situations and a unit of the city ambulance) took part in the manoeuvres.

"Such events permit us to test the readiness of the airport services for the emergency situations. This is another way to improve the work of our experts, to point the possible "bottlenecks" and the potential threats. In International airport "Kharkiv" different kinds of the manoeuvres and tests are being held regularly, that is an additional guarantee of the security for our passengers, including those who will visit Kharkiv during the Euro-2012", - emphasized Vladimir Vasilchenko, the CEO of the "New Systems AM" company.
