This September from the international airport "Kharkiv" is planned to open a regular flight to Istanbul.
The director of the airport "Kharkiv" Volodymyr Vasylchenko told UNIAN that at the opening ceremony of the new airport terminal.
He noted that together with the Austrian company airport realizes a program of enlisting to the cooperation of foreign and domestic airlines, and by the early autumn new three times a week regular flights to the Istanbul hub will open.
Talking about the cost of tickets, V. Vasylchenko said that the aviation company determines the price, but the airport is working with low cost company, so that "prices won`t be high".
Airport Director said that to date the airport works with 12 carriers, but negotiations to attract new partners constantly continue.
Deputy General Director for Strategic Development of the New Systems AM, which is engaged in the reconstruction of the airport, Vitaliy Nedashkovskiy, speaking about the prospect of opening new international flights, told that to spring is scheduled to open regular flights to Paris, Warsaw, as well as in Italy and Germany (cities are not determined yet). He refused to name the airline, noting that to date the negotiating process is still going.
In addition, according to V. Nedashkovskiy, the expansion of the number of domestic flights is planned soon. Later this year the opening of flights to Lviv and Odessa, and the next year - to Sevastopol is scheduled.
As reported by UNIAN, on August 28 in Kharkiv was opened a new terminal of international airport in preparation to Euro-2012. The new terminal capable of taking 650 passengers per hour. Project of preparation of the airport "Kharkiv" to Euro-2012 also provides the reconstruction of the historic terminal, construction of the temporary terminal, construction of a new runway, the bus station.
After the reconstruction of the runway the airport will take aircrafts type Airbus A-320 and Boeing B-737.
The work is carried out from two sources of financing: investment by the private investor Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, president of DCH group, the general investor and coordinator of Kharkiv preparations for Euro 2012, and funding from the state budget. Total investments by A. Yaroslavskyy (airport complex, station square) – UAH 508.8 mln. Total public investments (financing of the reconstruction of airfield complex) - UAH 1 billion 086.53 million. Total investments - UAH 1 billion 595.53 million.
