The new terminal is ready to send Kharkiv citizens abroad

On December 1, 2010 the new terminal of Kharkiv airport will start its work for international flights. Now terminal operates only on domestic flights.

According to deputy general director on strategic development of the operating company of Kharkiv Airport Vitaliy Nedashkovskiy, from December 1, Kharkiv citizens will be able to fly from the new terminal to Vienna, Istanbul, Moscow, Yerevan, Tbilisi and Batumi.

Nedashkovskiy noted that now the operating company of Kharkiv Airport works to expand the network of regular flights from Kharkiv abroad.

Now the company has a preliminary agreement on opening a new route to Prague, Warsaw, Paris, Milan, and to one of German cities - either Dusseldorf, or any other. There is no specificity about Germany yet.

In addition, on December 1 in the new terminal of Kharkiv airport, Ukrainian citizens will be able to receive electronic magnetic card, which will accelerate the process of border control.

"This card is designed for passengers who fly frequently. Data from the card are being scanned, and an employee of border guards receives the information on the screen that otherwise he would have type in himself. Because of this the time of border control is being reduced,"- said Nedashkovskiy.

Recall, the new terminal of Kharkov airport built for Euro 2012 including, was opened on August 28, 2010. Red ribbon in front of the main entrance to the new terminal, was cut by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, as well as the governor of the Kharkiv region, Mikhail Dobkin, airport investor Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, and Vice-Premier Boris Kolesnikov.
