Litvin: Verkhovna Rada will legislatively support Euro-2012


The Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Vladimir LITVIN states the readiness of the parliament to provide necessary financial backing of the facilities within the framework of preparing Ukrainian cities to hold the final of European Championship of the year 2012 at the legislative level.

As Verkhovna Rada Press Service reported to UNIAN, the speaker told about this to journalists in his interview in Kharkiv where he stays with one-day business trip.

«Everything depending on Verkhovna Rada to provide proper financing the facilities of euro-2012 from the state budget will be done», - noted V. LITVIN.

He concerns it necessary, in particular, to allocate 1.5 bln UAH to finish construction of the airport in Kharkiv. According to V. LITVIN, it is necessary to do this before November, 30th, of the current year, i.e. the date when the issue of participation of four cities in the Championship will be ultimately solved.

During his visit to Metallist Kharkiv Stadium, the chairman of Verkhovna Rada noted that the reconstruction “will provide the comprehensive approach”, “there will be no problem with security of people, their delivery, escape, evacuation, and accommodation.

«Due to rash tempo of the work being performed on enthusiasm itself, allocation of the state funds for holding the Championship is the question for me personally as well as the executive power, – V. LITVIN emphasized. – This money can be found at the account of refinancing also and stabilization fund for it not to become a present or presentation at the President elections».

«It is necessary to put the state interests first. The most important thing is to perform the financing», - he underlined.
