<P>Dear friends, </P> <P>Today is one of those days when I am very much so proud to be an inhabitant of the Kharkiv city.&nbsp; </P> <P>There is extremely significant and important matter to feel like this. Today is the very day when one can ultimately say with in full assurance of confidence that we have entered final straight of Metallist Recreational and Sports Complex in conformance to UEFA’s requirements to the stadiums where matches of Euro-2012 will be held. </P> <P>Actually, we managed to this solely by virtue of high public national spirit and consciousness. I want to express my profound gratitude to everybody who by means of personal hardships have done particularly important and essential deed – have moved our city closer to the status of competent receiving city of Euro-2012.&nbsp; </P> <P>Entrepreneurs of Konnyi Market, owners of garages Spektr of Cooperative Society, other people who were somehow disturbed with the arrangement of emergency exits from the Metallist Stadium have performed exceptionally noble deed which meaning for Kharkiv is hard to overestimate. I think everybody understands that Euro-2012 is not just a pair of football matches. This is new prospects for region’s economy and new higher quality of life for both for us, citizens of the Kharkiv city and our children and grandchildren.</P> <P>However, we should struggle for the perspectives together not relying for an opportunity but working shoulder to shoulder. As early as yesterday local authorities and business makers were fighting for the right to hold matches of the European Football championship in Kharkiv as a united front, and today we can confidently say that the preparation for Euro-2012 became a matter for all inhabitants of the Kharkiv region.</P> <P>I am sure that our enthusiasm and readiness to sacrifice all personal interests for the sake of the great common business will be appreciated with the true value and Kharkiv will see the football holiday of Euro-2012.</P> <P>For my own part, I want to assure you on behalf of Metallist Club that our team will thank everybody who helped us to meet the UEFA’s requirements and properly develop the territory in the vicinity around the stadioum with its fine play and colorful victories.
