Kharkiv International Airport has started to grant preferences to carriers: the first one to take advantage was low-cost companies from Turkey, DCH press service.
In early September 2010 the International airport "Kharkiv" has introduced a new system of payment of fees to airlines. It provides the significant discounts in case of opening new regular flights from Kharkiv. Thus, in the first year of new route work, the air carrier receives a 70% discount for payment of the fee for takeoff/landing and passenger fee, the 2 year discount is 50% the third - 30%. This practice is used in the European Union, but in Ukraine it is used for the first time.
As of today Kharkiv International Airport has been cooperating with 12 air carriers. First collaboration with the Kharkiv airport under the new system began Turkish low-cost company Pegasus Airlines. The carrier will operate flights from the Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul to Kharkiv 7 times per week from October 1. Departure from Kharkiv at 3:15 am, departing from Istanbul to Kharkiv at 23:40, the aircraft will spend the night in Kharkiv.
As previously reported, the new route to Istanbul was announced during the opening ceremony of the new terminal International Airport "Kharkiv" by DCH group president, the general investor and coordinator of the "first capital" preparation for Euro 2012 Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy. When asked about what new air routes to be opened, he also said: "Recently, agreements were signed on 5 routes in Europe, particularly in Paris, Warsaw, as well as in Italy and Germany. The whole world is open for us. The new terminal and airport, along with the runway and the stadium - all these will be used by us and our descendants, for at least 100 years we have provided Kharkiv with modern airport, to which friends, guests, people with money who want to invest in our region will arrive" .
In the near future the number of domestic flights to be expanded: this year it is planned to open flights to Lviv, Odessa, and the next year - in Sevastopol.
