The names of buyers of paintings by British artist Damien Hirst In Love, which became the most expensive lot in the history of auctions in Ukraine became known.
Buyers were Ukrainian billionaire Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy - the DCH group owner, and FC Metalist president, the general investor and coordinator of Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012, and Dmyitro Firtash – the owner of Group DF. As Korrespondent.net reported, the art work has cost businessmen 1.75 million euro (about $ 2.4 million) - in the proportion of 50% to 50%.
Recall that Hearst`s painting was sold on Oct. 3, 2010 at a charity dinner of Elena Pinchuk`s fund ANTIAIDS. The money will be spent on the purchase of express tests that allow for 10-15 minutes to get tested for HIV/AIDS, as well as expanding the joint project ANTIAIDS Fund and the Clinton Foundation in Ukraine.
Viktor Pinchuk and Yaroslavskyy thanked Firtash, and noted that their contribution to fighting the "epidemic of the century" - is "a new word in the history of Ukrainian philanthropy". Businessmen plan to transfer the picture to one of the Kharkiv childcare.
In Love is a heart-shaped work, which is performed in yellow, high-gloss paint on canvas. Painting was encrusted with cubic zirconium and butterflies. The size of the picture – 214\214 cm.
