Businessman Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, who owns 18.58% share in UkrSibbank (Kharkiv), is ready to save his share in the bank and to participate in its capitalization in case that the bank will be profitable.
"I am ready to participate in the profitable project. I'm not ready to participate in a non-profit one" - he said to the agency "Interfax-Ukraine".
Answering to clarifying question, the majority shareholder of BNP Paribas plans to once again bring UkrSibbank to profit, A. Yaroslavskyy said that he had no reason to doubt this.
UkrSibbank has been working in Ukraine since 1990. A. Yaroslavskyy was one of its founders and major shareholders, but then together with a partner sold a controlling share to the French bank BNP Paribas. Over time, the French investor increased his share up to 81.4157%.
UkrSibbank shareholders at a meeting on August 12 this year decided to increase its share capital by 42.3%, or UAH 2.232 bln. - up to UAH 7.512 bln. by the additional issue of shares. In this it is planned to issue the special privileged registered shares of class "A" for UAH 751 million for the first time and the common shares for UAH 1.481 bln.
The closed issue of common shares among existing shareholders is scheduled for the period from October 25 to November 11, preferred - from 9 to 11 of November, 2010.
Net loss of financial institution in the first half of 2010 amounted to UAH 1.262 bln. In 2009 – to UAH 1.244 bln.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, on July 1, 2010 by total assets (UAH 44.752 billion). UkrSibbank ranked fifth among the 176 banks operating in the country.
