The first hotel in Kharkiv, originally designed following the "five-star standards" Kharkiv Palace will be opened on December 14, 2011.
The hotel was built by Aleksander Yaroslavskiy`s DCH group (general investor and coordinator of Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012, the president of FC "Metalist") in the town square – Svobody Sq. The total investment in construction of the facility was $ 126 million
The project was implemented in less than 1.5 years: construction work started in early July 2010 and was completed by early of December 2011. Due to the appearing of the building of a new hotel, its architectural integrity and completeness has been restored.
The management of Kharkiv Palace 5* performs "Premier International" - the first Ukrainian hotel operator, the market leader. Kharkiv Palace 5* is a part of the luxury-collection "Premier Hotels".
During the Kharkiv matches of Euro 2012 Kharkiv Palace 5* will accommodate UEFA headquarters and will house UEFA "target group". When in 2010 Markiyan Lubkivsky, director of the local organizing committee of the tournament, during the signing of the contract with the hotel was asked why this hotel was chosen, he replied: "Because it`s the best".
The opening of Kharkiv Palace 5* will perform the final chord of the DCH Complex Programme for the preparation of Kharkiv for Euro 2012. Within it for the period from December 5, 2006 to December 5, 2011 the following projects were done:
- Reconstruction of Metalist stadium - $ 28.8 million (public-private partnership: 30% Aleksander Yaroslavskiy, 70% public funding)
- Reconstruction of international airport "Kharkiv" - $ 107.2 million (public-private partnership: 36% ин Aleksander Yaroslavskiy, 64% public funding)
- Reconstruction of Dynamo stadium, which will be used as Euro 2012 transit base - $ 0.3 million (100% private investment)
- Construction of Children's Football Academy - UEFA Volunteer Center in Kharkiv - $ 12 million (100% private investment)
- Reconstruction of FC Metalist training ground, a training camp for one of the teams participating in Euro 2012 - $ 24.6 million (100% private investment)
- Construction of the 5* hotel Kharkiv Palace in Svobody Square, which at the time of Euro 2012 will accommodate UEFA headquarters located in Kharkiv - $ 126 million (100% private investment)
The total Aleksander Yaroslavskiy`s investment in Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012 was $ 300 million.
