Reconstruction of the airport complex of international airport "Kharkiv" will be completed in October 2011, this was reported by DCH group of companies website referring to the head of the Directorate for the construction of the Kharkiv airport Oleksandr Sivalnev.
As noted by O. Sivalnev, the airport has already laid 500 meters of the new runway, which is one-fifth of the target. According to him, under the reconstruction of the airfield complex on this 500-meter runway, laying the top layer of heavy concrete M-450 was completed. The total thickness of concrete cover of the runway, which is being built on new technologies, is 400 mm, the width of the runway itself is 45 m, the length of the project - 2 thousand 500 meters, "Construction of the runway goes according to plan, and it will be ready for operation next year," - stressed the head of the Directorate for construction.
DCH press service also said that before the end of 2011 it is planned to complete all other work in the territory of the Kharkiv airport. In particular, in addition to the modernization of the runway there will be installed new equipment that will provide operational control of flights, the aprons and taxiways, the old terminal will be repaired and the temporary terminal will be built.

DCH group represented by "New Systems AM" is the operator of the reconstruction of international airport "Kharkiv" and the investor of reconstruction of the airport complex, which includes construction of a new terminal, upgrading the old terminal, reconstruction of the station square, the construction of the temporary terminal, upgrading of infrastructure, purchase of machinery and transport. The total DCH`s investment – UAH 508,8 mln.
Reconstruction of the airport complex, which includes reconstruction of ramps, runways, installing light signal system, construction of the rescue station, construction of dispatcher towers, are financed by the state budget.
