International Airport "Kharkiv", which DCH group modernizes for Euro 2012, had already laid 500 meters of the new runway, which is one-fifth of the target.
This was told to correspondent by the head of the Directorate for the construction of the airport "Kharkiv" Oleksandr Sivalnev.
According to him, under the reconstruction of the airfield complex, laying the top layer - heavy concrete M-450 was completed on this 500-meter stretch. The total thickness of concrete cover of a runway, which is being built on new technologies, is 400 mm. Runway width - 45 meters. Project length - 2500 meters.
Sivalnev noted that construction of the runway goes according to plan and it will be ready for operation in August-September next year. Reconstruction of the entire airfield complex of airport "Kharkiv" will be completed in October 2011, says stroyobzor.net.ua
In 2010, DCH group has completed construction of new terminal of international airport "Kharkiv". International Airport "Kharkiv" is one of the most important objects, which are reconstructed for Euro 2012. The project started on 1 April 2008, when the company "New Systems AM (DCH group, the president - well-known Ukrainian businessman, investor and general coordinator of Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012 Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy) won the competition for the rental of a complete property complex of the Kharkiv airport.
The reconstruction project includes the construction of the new terminal, reconstruction of existing one, construction of a new runway and apron repair, improvement of the station square. After completing the reconstruction the airport will be able to take a variety of aircrafts like the aircraft type Airbus A-320 and Boeing B-737.
DCH group since 2007, the Group is implementing a complex program of Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012. The program includes the reconstruction of several objects of sports infrastructure (including Metalist Stadium) and the International Airport "Kharkiv". The total investment of Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy in Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012 at the end of the first half of 2010 exceeded UAH 2 billion.
