After the reconstruction Kharkiv airport will be able to receive aircrafts from all airports in Europe, Middle East and Russian cities. This, on June 8 during the International Forum "AEROFORUM.UA", said CEO of the International Airport "Kharkiv" Volodymyr Vasylchenko. According to him, reconstructed and new runways in Kharkiv airport will be able to take aircrafts "Airbus" and "Boeing".

According to V. Vasylchenko, the proportion of air travel made by Kharkiv airport, in the structure of air travel in general in Ukraine is very low. "For the first quarter of 2010 in Ukraine 1 million 670 thousand passengers have used air travel, while the share of the Kharkiv airport was only 2%, or 33 thousand passengers," - noted the director of the airport. Nevertheless, he said, for 3 months this year level of traffic the airport "Kharkiv" has grown by 25% over the same period of 2009 "in the coverage area of the Kharkiv airport live around 4.3 million potential passengers. More than 40% of them fly to European countries and more than 50% - through airports of Russia go to Asia", - said V. Vasylchenko.

Also, airport director said that after the completion of construction new and temporary terminals, as well as reconstruction of the old airport building the capacity of the Kharkiv airport will meet all UEFA requirements. According to him, the capacity of the new terminal will be 650 people per hour, previously - 250 visitors per hour. In addition, the square in front of the Kharkiv airport can accommodate about 620 cars and 20 buses.
