Capacity of the new airport terminal at the time of Euro 2012 in Kharkov will increase in 2 times. Volodymyr Vasilchenko, the general director of the International Airport "Kharkiv" told this responding to the question of the correspondent of IA "MOST-Kharkiv" at an international forum AEROFORUM.UA.

"With normal operation of the airport the capacity of the new terminal is 650 passengers per hour. Now we are working with Customs Committee, Border Service and Ministry of Transport, develop a mechanism for easily crossing the border, which we believe will increase the capacity of the terminal up to 1300 passengers per hour", - said Volodymyr Vasilchenko.

He recalled that in accordance with UEFA requirements during the European championship the  airport capacity must be 25,000 passengers for 10 hours.

According to Vasilchenko, Kharkiv airport will be able to enforce these requirements by increasing the capacity of the new terminal, reconstruction of the old one and using of a temporary terminal.

"Another 1,000 passengers per hour will be provided by a temporary terminal, which will only work for departure or for arrival. The old terminal after the reconstruction will provide the capacity of 200-250 passengers per hour," - said Vasilchenko.

As reported the "MOST-Kharkiv", on June 7-9, in the building of new terminal of international airport "Kharkiv" there is an international forum "AEROFORUM.UA". Representatives of 50 companies from 35 countries worldwide will participate in the forum.

British Ambassador to Ukraine Lee Turner, Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine Boris Kolesnikov, UEFA Euro-2012 director in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky, DCH president Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Administration Mikhail Dobkin, Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council Serguey Chernov, Secretary of the City Council, acting Mayor of Kharkiv Gennadiy Kernes participated in the forum.
