After analyzing the readiness of target objects that will host the football championship, Delo; defined had the leader. It`s Kharkiv

"Kharkiv is undisputed leader in preparation for Euro-2012. They approached the closest to perform assigned by UEFA tasks" - says a former member of public control over the preparation for Euro 2012, expert Andriy Kapustin. But Euro 2012 tournament director in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky didn`t answer and did not want to name the leader city. "We all understand who is the favourite, but now all the cities are actively engaged in preparations for the championship, and I would not want to note someone" - he said.

To date, Kharkiv has commissioned most of the objects - Metalist stadium, which will host matches of Euro 2012, training ground in Vysokiy village, new terminal of airport "Kharkiv". Reconstruction of the stadium and the airport were carried out in the format of public-private partnership. The investor was businessman, the head of the DCH Group Oleksandr Iaroslavskiy. In general, businessman`s company will invest in Kharkiv`s preparation for the championship $ 251 million. In addition, in the case of airport funds are allocated from the state budget, with the stadium – from state and local budgets.

Stadium needs modification
However, even in Kharkiv in order to meet all the requirements of UEFA, the objects need some minor revisions. "After UEFA have strengthened requirements for the stadiums, we need to refine. Namely to install the toilets for spectators on the first floor of the North Stand; equip toilets and supply catering units for the spectators on the first and second floors of the South Stand. In addition, we must create an operational control room and CCTV (control room); room for stewards on the second floor of the East Stand, to implement IT systems and indoor and outdoor surveillance, as well as equip the external and internal power supply of the stadium" - DCH notes.

As for the airport, the new terminal and station square are fully done. Until the end of 2011 it is planned to complete reconstruction of the premises of the old terminal. Also active place of works is temporary terminal construction site: the work on the arrangement of the bases, mounting of bearing metal is coming to an end. "Building under construction will operate as a hangar for business aviation. During the Euro 2012 there will be reformation of the hangar to the reverse temporary terminal with a capacity of 1000 passengers per hour," - told in the DCH.

Deficiency of high-class hotels
The situation with the hotels in Kharkiv is ambiguous. In the city there is a shortage of hotels of high category. Today in Kharkiv there were signed contracts with hotels on 6,110 rooms (with the necessary number of 13,745 rooms). Also the option for accommodation of tourists in the dormitories of educational institutions is being considered. At the end of the year they should finish the construction of five-star hotel on Svobody Square, which is also being built by Oleksandr Iaroslavskiy. "The parking and two floors are ready. Thanks to this hotel, the deficiency of "five star" room fund was almost completely compensated. During the matches the hotel will be used to accommodate "UEFA family" - DCH sums up.

By mid-2012 it is scheduled the launch of the transport system with a single control center, which, in theory, should facilitate the travelling around the city for fans and visitors. And to the end of this year, it is scheduled to begin its trial run. The weakest place of the first Ukrainian capital are roads which urgently need to be reconstructed and built.
