In the spring of this year the company Turkish Airlines plans to start the scheduled flights on the route Istanbul - Kharkiv - Istanbul. The negotiation process between the carrier and the leaders of the International Airport "Kharkiv" entered now the final stage.
The Turkish Airlines plans to begin selling tickets for this flight in the near future. It is expected that the flights will be carried out 2 times a week - on Tuesdays and Fridays. The flight will be fulfilled on the aircrafts of a Boeing 737-800 type - they are the basis of an air fleet of the largest air carrier in the region.

With opening of this flight we continue to implement the development strategy of the Kharkiv airport and to fulfill the tasks set by the investor", - emphasized Vladimir Vasilchenko, the director of the "New Systems AM" company (the operating company of the International Airport "Kharkiv", a part of the DCH group of Aleksander Yaroslavskiy).
As previously reported, the support of the flights on the route Kharkiv-Istanbul is currently provided by the Turkish low-cost company Pegasus. In the winter schedule the flights of this airline have been carried out five times a week.

The large-scale project started on April 1, 2008, when the company "New Systems AM" (a DCH group, the owner is a well-known Ukrainian businessman, the general investor and coordinator of the Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012, the president of FC "Metalist", Aleksander Yaroslavskiy) won the competition for the long-term rent of the integral property complex of Kharkiv airport.
The reconstruction of the International airport "Kharkiv" is being held in the format of the private-state partnership. The total investment in the project by Aleksander Yaroslavskiy is $ 107.2 million (the airport complex and the surrounding area). The amount of funding allocated from the State budget for the reconstruction of the airport complex (including the construction of the airfield control tower) is $ 191.3 million.
