The company "Ukraine International Airlines” (UIA) resumed the regular flights on the route "Kharkiv - Kiev (Borispol) - Kharkiv". A grand ceremony of the meeting of the first flight’s airplane was held on the 15th of February 2012.
"It is not necessary to present such a company as UIA to Kharkiv residents because the company is known for its punctuality, its high level of service, a rich net of the routes", - told Vladimir Vasilchenko, the director of the "New Systems AM" (the company is a part of the DCH group of Aleksander Yaroslavskiy, the operator of the International Airport "Kharkiv") to the reporters during the event.
During the ceremony the representatives of the media and other guests went to the airfield to meet the AN-148 airplane coming from the capital. "Despite the fact that the UIA is traditionally the operator of the Boeing aircrafts, the flight Kiev-Kharkiv is carrying out on the AN-148 aircraft. We consider it as our duty to support our domestic producer and supplier of the aircrafts", - said Yuriy Miroshnikov, the president of the company "Ukraine International Airlines".
We will recall you that in November 2011 the UIA have suspended the flights on the route "Kharkiv - Kiev (Borispol) - Kharkiv" in connection with the reconstruction works of the International airport “Kharkiv” complex. During few months an authorized air carrier on this route was the company "Aerosvit" and the flights were served by the company "Dniproavia" in accordance with a signed agreement. The UIA will carry out the flights in partnership with the airlines "Aerosvit" and "Antonov Airlines” every day 3 times a day on the aircrafts "AN-148" and “Boeing-737" with two classes of service - business and economy class.
The guests of the flights resumption ceremony took part in a cutting of a cake that was held in the premises of the International Airport "Kharkiv" passenger terminal (the object of Euro 2012, was built "from scratch" at the expense of a private investment by Aleksander Yaroslavskiy, set in operation on 28th of August 2010).
The representatives of the airline emphasized a high level of service at the new terminal building, which in few months will receive the Euro 2012 fans. "I am the first time in your wonderful new terminal that makes an excellent impression. I have seen a lot of terminals, a lot of airports. I am very pleased that the city of Kharkiv, one of my favorite cities in Ukraine, will have now such a terminal. And I am pleased even more that a great terminal nearby is preserved - it remains in remembrance of those traditions and that good glorious history of the aviation of our country as it was and a part of which is the city of Kharkiv", - noted Yuriy Miroshnikov.
The Director of the "New Systems AM" company, Vladimir Vasilchenko, thanked his colleague for the kind words and in his turn told the journalists about the intention to continue the work on the development and improvement of the Kharkiv airport. "We use all the powers, tools and possibilities to expand the route network and to satisfy the demand and the need of the Kharkiv residents and the guests of the city of Kharkiv as much as possible. The start of the UIA flights - this is another step to solve our tasks"- he said. The "Ukraine International Airlines” expressed the willingness to assist the airport in the implementation of its goals. The company's management is considering the possibility of expanding the network of routes from Kharkiv, carrying out on the AN-148 aircrafts as well as on the Boeing aircrafts. "We have plans to open the flights from here to abroad - both charter and scheduled ones. Therefore, if every time we will be welcomed like this, then, believe me, we will open many new flights from Kharkiv, we will please Kharkiv residents with the high-quality service of the UIA and the highest standards of safety and comfort", - emphasized Yuriy Miroshnikov.
