On 3rd of April 2012 the International airport "Kharkiv" received a passenger aircraft with the highest carrying capacity in the history of the "air gates" of Slobozhanshchina.
On Tuesday at 22.24 in Kharkiv airport the Airbus A-310 that flied on the route Lisbon-Kharkov-Lisbon landed. This is the largest aircraft the airport ever received. The maximum takeoff weight of the air giant is 157 tons, the number of seats - 222. The aircraft carry out a "targeted" flight: on Tuesday it delivered to Kharkiv the team of the FC "Sporting Lisbon", which will meet here in the Europa League match with Kharkiv "Metalist". Together with the players the supporting group, the Portuguese fans of the team, came for the match. The flight 9790 RZO will take the route Kharkiv-Lisbon on 6th of April.
As is known the IA "Kharkiv" is one of the Ukrainian air objects of Euro 2012 and this year it will receive the football fans which will come from different countries to support the participants of the tournament. The reconstruction of the object is being held in the format of private-state partnership: the reconstruction of the airfield complex - at the expense of funds allocated from the State budget of Ukraine in the amount of $ 191.3 million; the construction of 2 new terminals, the restoration of the historic building of the terminal, the landscaping of the adjacent territory – at the expense of the private investment by Aleksander Yaroslavskiy in the amount of $ 107.2 million.

The total investment in the project by Aleksander Yaroslavskiy is $ 107.2 million (the airport complex and the surrounding area). The amount of funding allocated from the State budget for the reconstruction of the airport complex (including the construction of the airfield control tower) is $ 191.3 million.
