Winter schedule of Kharkov airport will be enhanced

On 28th of October International airport “Kharkov” will switch to winter schedule. It has been already approved, but the transport object administration gives promise to enhance it with new destinations and after the indicated date. It was told by Vladimir Vasilchenko, CEO of New Systems AM (the operator company of International Airport “Kharkov” belongs to DCH group headed by Alexander Yaroslavsky).

“We’re in constant communication with various air carriers, expanding geography of the direct flights from Kharkov. At present, we continue to talk with some airlines whose flights could be included in the winter schedule”, – mentioned Vladimir Vasilchenko. He said that this concerns direct flights to Krakow and Baku from Kharkov, which are being discussed now and also several other flights to new destinations.

As for “resort” routes, their summer set will be changed to a winter one. Flights to Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and other cities will be added. “The schedule is drawn up according to realistic demand of our passengers for flights on certain routes. We’re sure that in winter passengers will travel with comfort from International airport “Kharkov”, – underlined Vladimir Vasilchenko.

International airport “Kharkov” (http://hrk.aero/) – one of the key objects of the capital Slobozhanshchina, reconstructed at the present time in preparation for the finals of European Football Championship in 2012. Start of large-scale project was given on April 1, 2008, when the company “New Systems AM” (a group of DCH, the owner – a well-known Ukrainian businessman, investor and general coordinator of Kharkov’s preparations for Euro 2012, the president of FC “Metalist” Alexander Yaroslavsky) won the competition for long-term rent integral property complex of Kharkov airport. Reconstruction of the International Airport “Kharkov” is in the format of public-private partnership. The total investment in the project by Alexander Yaroslavsky was $ 107.2 million (airport terminal and surrounding areas). The amount of funding allocated from the State budget for the reconstruction of the airport complex (including construction and airfield control tower) – $ 191.3 million.
