The station for crossing the border with the help of an electronic card will open the international airport "Kharkiv" till the end of the year. This on December 10 said First Deputy Head of Kharkiv border guard department Leonid Homa at the press center of the news agency "STATUS QUO".

"For the owner of the card it will be easier to cross the border, no need to fill out a migration card. And the border guards do not have to study the documents, they will just put the card to the reader, and all the data about a person will remain in our database. These cards are introduced for the convenience of those who need frequently cross the border at one particular checkpoint" - said L. Homa.

According to him, such a station is already operating at Kyiv airport "Boryspil". "30 thousand e-cards, which can be purchased at the airport, were produced. The cost of cards - 12 UAH. They`ll go on sale as soon as we sign a contract with the bank, which will sell them," - noted the official.

L. Homa reported that such crossing stations up to 2012 will be installed in all the six international border crossings, which are administered by the Kharkiv border guard department. "In addition, there is also planned the installation of a "pocket" terminals on the road, rail and pedestrian checkpoints, particularly where the inhabitants of border areas frequently cross the border", - said L. Homa.
