On 2 May the ceremony was held in Kharkiv International Airport to pay last respects to Boeing 777-200 crash victims of Malaysia Airlines (flight MN17). Seven last coffins with remains of crash victims were sent to the Netherlands. On this stage an International factfinding mission of crash investigation has finished its work – journalists got this information from Gerard Adriaan van der Steur, Minister of Security and Justice in the Netherlands.
Also Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine Kees Klompenhouwe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia in Ukraine Doug Trappett, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia in Ukraine Chuah Teong Ban, Head of International factfinding mission of MN17 flight crash Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg and others took part in the event. Members of the delegation mentioned that today it’s too early to speak about the crash reasons, investigation has continued and the materials have been learnt. At the end of the factfinding mission on the territory of our country foreign politicians thanked Ukrainian side for its support and help. “I’d like to say thank you to Ukrainian people that in such difficult conditions we managed to do it”, — Gerard Adriaan van der Steur told.
Let us remind that earlier diplomatic officials of Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine thanked Alexandr Yaroslavsky (president of DCH group, one of the companies is an operator of Kharkiv International Airport) for help to international factfinding mission. “Professionality of the team of Kharkiv International Airport allowed our experts to make all conditions to organize special flights to the Netherlands. We appreciate your own efforts to provide our expert group with free hotel assignment in Kharkiv Palace hotel and also thank you for an accommodation that was provided for Anti-crisis support center for the families of died in the crash”, — it was told in the official grateful letter of Embassy. Upon the information from media more than 100 people representing International factfinding mission from 7 countries lived in Kharkiv Palace 5* in summer 2014. The conference hall of the hotel accepted more than 120 journalists from 16 countries.
