The intensity of the Kharkiv airport passenger traffic during the winter months increased by 53%.

During the first two months of 2013 the International Airport "Kharkiv" served more than 69.7 thousand passengers. This figure is higher than the figure for January and February of last year by 53% (in 2012 for the same period of time airport services were provided to 45.7 thousand passengers). Only in February 2013 the volume of passenger traffic reached 33.2 thousand people, which is 46% more than last year (22.6 thousand).
Traditionally, international transportation of passengers excels in numbers over domestic flights. Thus, in January-February 2013 on international flights were carried 57.8 thousand of passengers (which is 62% more than the same number over the same period in 2012 - 35.6 thousand), while domestic flights reached a number of only 12 thousand passengers in the current year and 10 thousand - in January and February last year. International flights services were directly used in February 2013 by 27.6 thousand people and the last year the number was 65% lower, only 16.7 thousand people. Data on domestic passenger transportation for February this year and the past is not too different - in 2013 it was just 7% less than in 2012 (5.5 thousand vs. 5.9 thousand).
In January and February 2013 in the Kharkiv airport were done 628 take-offs - 8% more than last year (582 flights), international flights made up 387 of them (+12%), domestic - 241 (+3%). Directly in February of this year were made 305 sorties (+3%), of which international make up 187 (+7%), domestic - 118 (-2%).
Overall airport passenger traffic continues to build on the momentum, especially on international flights. This trend will continue in the future - in connection with the discovery of a number of promising new international routes.
