April 15, 2015 in Prague (Congress Hall Hilton hotel) was held the first event of the business forum Ukraine: Just business, the main purpose of which is to present the real business potential of Ukraine to international business community.
To the meeting with the Ukrainian delegation were invited Czech businessmen, who already have experience of cooperation with our country, and consider this opportunity in the future. Support in inviting guests was given by Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, and by the local business association Ukrainian Business Club.
After the welcoming words of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine in the Czech Republic Boris Zaychuk, representatives of the business community of the Czech Republic David Prudek (Ukrainian Business Club) and Martin Durin (Chamber for Commercial Relations with CIS), as well as a representative of the Ukrainian CCI Gennady Boldir shared their opinion about development perspectives of economic relations between the two countries. Most of the questions asked by guests in the first panel discussion were about the pace of reform and the actual results of the Ukrainian economy - especially regarding tax competencies and customs administration.
The second panel discussion at the event related to the practical experience of doing business in Ukraine, analysis of the currently existing business opportunities and investment risks. Due to the opinion of the participants of the discussion - Maxim Lavrynovych (the managing partner of the law firm "Lavrynovych & Partners"), Elena Derevianko (Vice-President of DCH Alexander Yaroslavsky) and Vladimir Panov (member of the supervisory board of the company Eurocar, General Director of "Sezparkservis"), despite the crisis, doing business in Ukraine is possible:
- Maxim Lavrynovych emphasized the importance of quality of the legal support for investment projects in Ukraine and stressed that foreign investors are now most welcome in our country.
- Elena Derevyanko stressed that an important condition for successful investment in Ukraine is a strategic approach - far-sighted policy of the investor, the ability to choose local partners and to develop intelligent multi-port combinations on market.
- Vladimir Panov shared information about the work of the industrial park "Solomonovo" as a high-tech and attractive one for investors in engineering cluster.
Participants of the meeting appreciated the initiative to organize Ukraine: Just Business as a modern and useful measure to increase the investment attractiveness of the Ukrainian economy. And Stefan Fule (former European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood), who was present at the event, wished that "the enthusiasm of the organizers of the optimistic road-show was transmitted to Ukrainian politicians."
As reported, Business Forum Ukraine: Just Business is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The initiators of the project - the law firm "Lavrynovych & Partners" and the Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine. The main purpose of the forum is to restore the lack of confidence among potential investors. The following activities of Ukraine: Just Business are scheduled for April 27 (Warsaw) and 14 May (Budapest) 2015.
