In early June 2013 the airline "Kharkiv Airlines" (Alexander Yaroslavsky’ DCH Group) in cooperation with major international tour operator Pegas Touristik started to carry out passenger flights on international routes.
June 6, 2013 the International Airport "Kharkiv" received its first official flight from Kiev, which carried dignitaries and representatives of the media and posted its first commercial flight on the route "Kharkiv-Antalya (Turkey)".
Nikolai Nikitenko, chairman of the "Kharkiv Airlines”, said: "Kharkiv Airlines" have a clear and ambitious strategy of development. Today, we are taking the first steps towards its implementation. Its priorities are clear - an extensive network of trails, quality service and safety. In our work, we will be guided by this particular set of values".
At a press briefing, which took place on the eve of the departure of the aircraft from Kiev, director of production airport "Borispol" Alexander Cherepanov said: "We are delighted that our airport began to operate another national carrier. For our part, we have high hopes for the active development of airline "Kharkiv Airlines", which will be able to offer our passengers even more out of the popular tourist destinations".
According to the flight program of the summer season 2013 "Kharkiv Airlines" will run 32 flights a week from three cities - Kharkiv, Kyiv and Donetsk. First areas that will be developed are Heraklion (Greece), Monastir (Tunisia), Antalya (Turkey), Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada (both - Egypt). Also flights to Goa (India) and Bangkok (Thailand) are planned for development. At the initial stage, all the air transportaions on the stated resort areas (existing and planned for development in the future) will be implemented in close cooperation with the tour operator Pegas Touristik. In the future, the organization of regular passenger flights is discussed. Flights "Kharkiv Airlines" will be realized through the sales of Pegas Touristik as a travel partner.
The company “Kharkiv Airlines” on summer of 2012 became part of the Alexander Yaroslavsky’ DCH, the leaders of which have decided to develop a"Kharkiv Airlines" with an aim to increase passenger traffic at the International Airport “Kharkiv”. Fleet of “Kharkiv Airlines” is currently represented by one B767-300ER aircraft and two aircrafts B737-800NG. In the future, the number of aircrafts will be built up in accordance with the approved schedule of the route development.’
