Kharkiv airport steps up in construction of a new runway

The pace of construction of a new runway in International Airport "Kharkiv" is increasing, which is proved by information from the construction site. So, as of March 30, 2011, the facility employs about 60 people and nearly 40 vehicles. However, only in the last week of March, it was developed 28 thousand cubic meters of soil, stabilized 9.4 thousand square meters of subsoil, laid 5,2 thousand square meters of groundwater cement mixture and 6,7 thousand square meters of M100 grade concrete. In total 36% of works were done from the approved schedule of reconstruction of airfield complex IA "Kharkiv", to which the state budget allocated UAH 548.9 million. In addition, the excavation works for the construction of aviation control tower have started.

Even more active are sites of airport facilities, construction of which is financed by the private investor - Oleksandr Iaroslavskyi. Today 30% of works on construction of the temporary terminal are done. 63 people and 6 vehicles work at the facility. The foundation is ready, the installation of the main bearing metal constructions and the roof are completed. UAH 17.9 million has been allocated for the construction.

Works on the reconstruction of the old airport building are going according to schedule. Works on the interior design of future VIP-terminal are now coming to the end.
