Iaroslavskyi has opened a monument to the lost pilots in the airport

In honor of 65th anniversary of the Victory the Monument to pilots who died during WWII was opened in Kharkiv International Airport.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the monument is installed on the airport land near the new terminal, which is built for the finals of Euro 2012in Kharkiv.

Oleksandr Iaroslavskyi - general investor on Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012, president of DCH Group, which funded the airport reconstruction and a monument to the lost pilots took part in the opening ceremony of monumental stele (height – 9 meters, width - 11 meters).

Kharkiv Regional State Administration Chairman Mikhail Dobkin, Kharkiv Regional Council Chairman Sergiy Chernov, Secretary of Kharkiv City Council Gennadiy Kernes congratulated veterans on Victory Day in their speeches. O. Iaroslavskyi invited them to breakfast at the field kitchen, organized on airport land, and to school concert.

Commenting the event on press, O. Yaroslavskyi noted that he saw joy and gratitude in the eyes of veterans today. "For us it is important that people are glad for the monument, and I see this genuine joy in their eyes. I'm glad that our traditional holidays returned, like Victory Day, when we all gathered at the festive table, watching military parades. And I feel like I came back to my childhood. We knew that this must be done. This must be done, because we have memory. Anyone who does not remember history has no future "- said O. Iaroslavskyi.
