We would like to draw the mass media’s attention to the information concerning the activity of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant which appeared on the website of the Ukrainian National News Information Agancy (UNN) and which is inaccurate.
The item of 28 December, 2016 (9:30) reads that currently the manufacturing equipment is being dismantled at the enterprise.
DCH Group officially states that this information is false; circulating this information is a gross violation of professional and ethics guidelines of journalism. Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, owner and investor of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant, and the current management of the Plant are known to be making every effort to maintain the production capacity of the enterprise (agricultural machinery and defense vehicle manufacturing facilities) in order to implement steps aimed at rescuing the Plant.
It is the ex-director general of the plant who is rightly suspected of attempts at destroying the plant’s lines (defense vehicle manufacturing among them); the law-enforcement bodies have already started corresponding criminal proceedings for multiple facts. We hope that the UNN editorial board was misled by dishonest informants and we expect a disclaimer to be published. Yet if understanding is not reached and/or libelous information appears on this media source’s website again, DCH lawyers will be forced to take corresponding steps in order to protect the business reputation of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant.
We would also like to ask mass media representatives to cover the activities of the enterprise with all responsibility; its condition does influence lives of thousands of people – the employees, their families, and partners. While the leaders of this country have taken decisive steps to stabilize the situation at the Plant, spreading false rumors can be beneficial only for destructive forces not interested in reviving the legendary plant and the industrial potential of the Kharkiv Region on the whole.
