Flight restrictions in the international airport Kharkiv are removed

On the 26th of December 2011 the main part of the lighting and navigation equipment of the new runway of the International airport "Kharkiv" was officially put into operation. This will permit to use it with its full capacity, in particular the new band of the airfield complex will be able to receive the aircrafts at any time and even in bad weather conditions.

Having this in mind the previously introduced flight restrictions are removed. In the last week of December the flights of airlines as Air Arabia (the flight Kharkiv-Sharjah), flydubai (the flight Kharkiv-Dubai), MAU (the flights Kharkiv - Hurghada, Kharkiv – Sharm-el-Sheikh), which were canceled due to the works connected to the repair of the old runway and the startup of the new one, will be resumed. In addition, the largest Russian airline "Transaero" will start to implement the scheduled flights on the route Kharkiv - Moscow in the near future.

As previously reported, the new runway of the International airport "Kharkiv" has received the first flight on the 29th of November 2011. This event marked the completion of a three years period of large-scale construction works on the reconstruction of one of the most important objects of the transport infrastructure of Slobozhanshina. Previously an airport land side and a new passenger terminal (both - summer 2010), as well as a VIP-terminal and a temporary terminal (both - autumn 2011) were put into operation. The length of the new runway is 2,500 meters. That permits to receive mid-range aircrafts like Boeing and Airbus.
