Ukrainian businessman Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy is not the owner of UkrSibbank (Kharkiv), by selling his 18.57% share to the bank's majority owners - French banking group BNP Paribas.
Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy sold UkrSibbank minority share to the group, and as a result, the group became the owner of 99.99% of shares of the financial institution" - said the statement of DCH, which combines A. Yaroslavskyy assets, on Thursday.
According to it, the deal, in which the DCH group sold its shares of UkrSibbank, was completed on December 2.
Earlier, the management of DCH, which is owned by the founder of UkrSibbank A. Yaroslavskyy, publicly stated the unwillingness to participate in an additional emission, initiated by the majority shareholder. In particular, the Ukrainian owners were not satisfied with the conditions suggested by French partners.
Commenting on the differences between the shareholders, the experts admitted that DCH group can be soon extended with new assets in the financial sector or enter the market with a new financial institution, given Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy`s connections and experience as a banker.
UkrSibbank was founded in 1990. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, on July 1, 2010 by total assets (44.752 billion USD) UkrSibbank took 5th place among 176 banks operating in the country. The regional network includes more than 700 branches throughout Ukraine.
BNP Paribas - a European leader in the international financial market, one of the six largest banks in the world according to rating agency Standard & Poor's.
