The coordinator of Kharkiv preparation for Euro-2012 Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy believes that the new terminal of International Airport Kharkiv allows to provide the city with the modern airport for the next 100 years. He said that today five agreements for the new terminal to accept flights from Milan, Budapest, Paris, Berlin and Warsaw had been signed.
"This is just the beginning. For us the whole world is open", - said Mr. Yaroslavskyy.
According to him, the object will be repaid no earlier than in 15-18 years. "Airport started to pay off today. The joy on the faces of Kharkiv citizens is the confirmation," - said the businessman.
Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy said that the main and the most important task is to provide medium-range flights to cover the whole Europe. He added that the next stage of reconstruction of Kharkiv airport will begin in a few months - this time the old terminal building will be upgraded. According to the investor, it will be an exclusive complex that keeps the spirit of the Stalin era. The cost of works is estimated at 5-6 million dollars. It is planned that during the European Championship, it will serve the VIP-passengers.
In turn, UEFA director Martin Kallen, who also attended the celebration, called the new terminal of the Kharkiv airport the most modern and multifunctional. In his opinion, Euro-2012 provides a significant impetus to the development of Ukraine.
