On the 16th of January 2012 a new platform was put into operation at the International airport "Kharkiv". Functionally it is a component of the airfield complex and is used as a "parking" and maintenance place for aircrafts at the airport terminals.
The new platform is intended for 21 parking places for all types of mid-range aircrafts (for example Boeing 737 and Airbus A-320). Vladimir Vasilchenko, the chief executive officer of "New Systems AM" (the operator of the International airport "Kharkiv", the DCH Group of Aleksander Yaroslavskiy) commented on this event: "Due to the use of the new platform we can considerably accelerate the maintenance of the aircrafts. This, in turn, will increase the attractiveness of our airport for carriers and attract new airlines. And of course it will create more comfortable conditions for the passengers in the phases of departure and arrival.
The first aircraft that was served at the new platform was the Fokker-100 of the "Austrian Airlines", the flight OS 752 Vienna-Kharkiv.
