Yaroslavskiy’s airline to launch flights to Istanbul

Kharkiv Airlines (Aleksandr Yaroslavskiy’s DCH Group) plans to launch in the near future regular daily flights to Istanbul from three Ukrainian cities Odessa, Kharkiv and Lviv, as was reported by the company’s press-service.

The regular flights on these routes are scheduled to start on August 29.

“From the moment of our company’s revival in June last year to December we transported over 160 thousand passengers. By the end of 2014 we plan to more than double this indicator, reaching the passenger flow of 350 thousand people. Thus, Kharkiv Airlines have successfully started a newest chapter in its history, not only firmly securing its position as a charter carrier, but also having implemented a number of important innovations for optimizing  logistics and assuring passenger comfort,” underlined Dmitriy Shynkarchuk, commercial manager of the airline.

According to Shynkarchuk, this also means introducing Electronic Flight Bag project. Kharkiv Airlines are the first in Ukraine to start storing and transmitting flight data with the help of electronic media. Thanks to cooperation with Lufthansa Systems, aircraft crews of the airline are now equipped with advanced tablets containing all the necessary data instead of using dozens of kilograms of paper maps and documents. “No other Ukrainian airline is for the moment using this innovational technology on a large-scale level of practical implementation. Besides, this autumn we will enlarge our aircraft fleet with several Boeings 737NG,” he underlined.

As reported earlier, Kharkiv Airlines was founded in 1998. It was performing flights up to 2001, but due to financial difficulties was forced to leave the market. Kharkiv Airlines began working as part of Aleksandr Yaroslavkiy’s DCH Group in 2012. Starting June 2013, the airline started operating flights. Summer route network includes charter flights to Antalya, Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv. Winter programmes are traditionally enlarged with long haul flights such as Phuket, Bangkok (Thailand), Goa (India), Nha Trang (Vietnam), Punta Cana (the Dominican Republic).
