In June this year it`s 20 years since the founding of "Ukrsibbank" - one of the largest Ukrainian banks. As DCH press service says, Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, the owner and president of which is a shareholder of the bank, the anniversary celebrations started with a press conference at the "Metalist" stadium.
Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy recalled the times when UkrSibbank`s story had just begun: "Today we heard statistical indicators, according to which we can see - the bank is safe and successful. And I have a completely different picture before my eyes: the building in which the bank was located in Kharkiv and the banking license. And nothing more.”
DCH President appreciated the experience of cooperation with international financial group BNP Paribas, through which "for a relatively short period of time, a great job has been done." Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy also said that he not only remains UkrSibbank shareholder but also its customer: "I didn`t leave the bank in crisis in 1998 or last year, because I`m sure - it is the safest financial institution. I`ll always save my money only in UkrSibbank.”
In his turn, chairman of the Supervisory Board of UkrSibbank, the representative of BNP Paribas Group, Jean Varlet said that buying a large share of the bank in 2005 is considered by a group as extremely valuable attachment: "5 years ago UkrSibbank was extremely attractive asset. And the main factor in this was the fact that we have joined forces with one of the strongest and the leading Ukrainian businessmen - Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy. It was an opportunity which was very difficult to find."
Today UkrSibbank has more than 700 offices on the territory of Ukraine. Since 2006, it is one of the three largest banks in the country. Leading international financial magazine Global Finance fourth year in a row named UkrSibbank the best bank in Ukraine.
