Two new flights launched in Ukraine

Kharkiv Airlines launches two new long-haul flights – to the Dominican Republic and Vietnam. The first one, from Boryspil airport following a Kyiv-Nha Trang (Vietnam) route, took place yesterday. The second is scheduled for tomorrow to Punta Cana from the same airport. Direct flights are part of a joint charter programme with Pegas Touristik tour operator, as told to Vesti by the press-service of DCH Group, which comprises Kharkiv Airlines.

The departure time for Kyiv-Vietnam flight is 20:20; arrival time in Nha Trang is 12:00. The scheduled departure time from Kyiv to the Dominican Republic is 03:15; arrival time in Punta Cana is 12:00. Long-haul flights will be operated on a Boeing 767 which has two service classes, business and economy.

Both flights will be operated once in ten days. “Their schedule is made with consideration for the needs and wishes of passengers. Check-in for all of the airline’s flights starts 3 hours before the departure which allows passengers to plan their transfer,” reported the DCH press-service.

As Vesti found out, it won’t be easy to buy the tickets: Pegas Touristik offers a list of authorized travel agencies realizing the charter tickets. And they will try to sell not only a plane ticket but also a companion tour. “The tour operator is interested in selling the whole tour package not just tickets, buying out not only the charter flight but also a hotel for the whole season, it is interested in its occupancy,” said Sergei, a Portal-tour manager.

Meanwhile, Vesti assured that it would also be possible to buy tickets for the new flights without a vacation package; however, the price will depend on the flight load. “The less the load – the bigger will be the discount, and vice versa. For example, I recently sold a tour for two to Nha Trang at 1440 USD, i.e. 720 USD for a person, including the flight, transfer, accommodation, and insurance. A single round trip ticket for the same flight to Vietnam cost about 900 USD. The flight to the Dominican Republic was even more expensive – starting from 1000 USD,” said Sergei.

DCH press-service reports that Kharkiv Airlines is considering a possibility of free sales of tickets in the next seasons, including sales through its own site.
