The city council approved sketch of Yaroslavskyy`s 11-storey hotel on Liberty Square

On August 6, Kharkiv city council approved the preliminary design of a multifunctional shopping and office center with hotel, office space and underground parking. The hotel will be located in the north-eastern part of the Liberty Square, reports Harkov.proUA.com.

The author of the conceptual design is the former Kyiv`s chief architect Sergiy Babushkin.

Babushkin said that the building of the hotel will have 172 rooms. The ground floor will be given to a retail space, on the first floor there will be located a huge conference hall. Also on the first floor there will be a restaurant and administrative offices of the building. From the second till the 9th floor there will be 5 stars hotel.

At the 10th floor there will be a fitness and spa centers, as well as sky-restaurant with a panoramic view of Freedom Square. One will be able to get to the restaurant using one of the three panoramic elevators.

In addition, on the ground floor of the building there`s also will be a casino with a separate entrance.

Babushkin said that the issue with permission for 5-star category hotels to have casino will be resolved soon.

During the discussion, the rector of the Kharkiv State Technical University of Construction and Architecture Yuriy Shkodovskiy noted that the place where the hotel will be, was prepared for many different projects and the project brought together the best of what has been presented previously.

Recall, that DCH group constructs the complex. According to Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the DCH group Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, the construction of a complex is planned to be completed before Euro 2012.
