Response to Kharkiv citizens’ appeal as of 02.03.2014

Dear fellow citizens,
Thank you for your kind words and good opinion of me. I am deeply moved by such faith and appreciate it.
Just like all of you, it deeply hurts me to see what is happening in our country and in our native city.
I stand for the united, indivisible and prosperous Ukraine – it is my definite and unfailing civic position. However, I am convinced that it is not necessary to be a mayor, a governor or to hold any other position to be a patriot of your native city and Motherland.
In the current situation, we have to prove our love to our city and country not with displaying career ambitions but by deed. The new Kharkiv region governor has had my telephone number since his first working day, and I am open to dialogue. Though I am not making any loud statements or trying to secure a high government position, I am doing everything possible not to allow breakup and humiliation of Ukraine.
Thank you once again for your appeal and your trust. I believe that by joint efforts we can restore peace in the country and agreement in the society.
