Reconstruction of Kharkiv airport terminal: the work on the "old" runway

On November 9, 2011 the next stage of reconstruction of the airfield of the international airport "Kharkiv" complex started. Until November 21, there will be planned works on reducing the length of the existing ("old") runway from 2000 to 1500 m. They are necessary, based on the technological requirements for the construction of a new runway. As previously reported, its length will be 2,500 meters, which would allow Kharkiv to take aircrafts such as Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 without limitations, thereby ensuring maximum comfort for passengers and airline companies.

Please note that because of these operations for the period November 9-25 2011 several scheduled flights will be canceled (Istanbul, Dubai, Sharjah), they will be resumed immediately after the commissioning of a new runway. The airport apologizes for any inconvenience.
