Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, the owner and president of DCH Group, has written a letter to the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and law enforcement officers with regard to the recovery of AIS Group’s debts totaling about USD 100 million to DCH as the successor creditor of UkrSibbank. The law enforcement agencies include the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the National Bureau of Investigation.
In his letter, Oleksandr Yaroslavsky points out that newly elected people's deputies of Ukraine obviously abuse their deputy status in order to put pressure on DCH as a creditor in the interests of the beneficiaries of the AIS Group – Dmytro Sviatash and Vasyl Poliakov, ex-deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. The document also states that according to criminal proceedings for the recovery of AIS Group’s debts:
- Vasyl Poliakov is suspected of fraud
- Both AIS’s beneficiaries have been put under restraint
- AIS’s officials are under round-the-clock house arrest
At the same time, debtors are attempting to evade responsibility in keeping with the “best” corrupt traditions.
“It is very strange to read letters signed by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who are trying to replace the court and are advocating for dishonest debtors. It is disgusting to observe how AIS’s management is trying to imitate rallies under the walls of government agencies,” as highlighted in the Oleksandr Yaroslavsky’s letter. “According to the deep conviction of the DCH Group’s team, the practice of using the status of a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for personal advantage and putting pressure on law enforcement agencies must be a thing of the past, and people’s deputies must focus on lawmaking and representing the interests of the people of Ukraine.”
In addition, DCH Group draws the attention of the President of Ukraine, the deputy corps of the Verkhovna Rada, law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies to how harmful the situation is when the rights of creditors are systematically violated with the connivance of the government and to how important it is for the Ukrainian government to prove the political will in order to protect the legitimate interests of businesses, including in case of recovery of AIS’s multimillion debts from which its beneficiaries have been evading for 12 years.
“Political influence on economic relations is unacceptable in a democratic modern state. Discrimination of creditors significantly worsens investment prospects and potential economic growth of our country. I am convinced that the court will make an objective rightful decision with a fair and transparent consideration of case on AIS’s debts, and the world will see a real powerful example of how the government of Ukraine is building a legal state and protecting the legitimate interests of businesses,” the official letter states (the full text is given below).
