Kharkiv – Yerevan – Kharkiv: the way is paved

On July 28, Airbus 319 made its first Kharkiv – Yerevan – Kharkiv flight departing at 00.10 from Kharkiv International Airport. Until recently, this route did not appeal to airlines, and the last flight took place in 2005.

Pavel Prusak, Commercial Director of OOO New Systems AM (operating company of Kharkiv International Airport, part of DCH Group owned by Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy), said the following: Yerevan is an important destination to be added to the list of cities reachable by plane from Kharkiv. Besides, the Armenian population of Kharkiv exceeds 20 thousand people. From 2005 to 2009, passengers wishing to go to Yerevan from Kharkiv had to take flights from Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kyiv. The prices are similar to those for flights from other Ukrainian cities.

According to Pavel Prusak, the Kharkiv – Yerevan – Kharkiv flight was organized with the support from the Armenian community of Kharkiv. The first flight took 54 passengers. The flight is operated by Armavia Air Company. Such flights are planned to become regular, departing each Tuesday. At the moment, DCH Group is negotiating with leading air carriers of Ukraine and other countries on flights to various destinations.
