Kharkiv International Airport determined popular flights in October 2013

Kharkiv International Airport has summed up the work in October 2013. 54.4 thousand people (+ 29%) used the services of Kharkiv International Airport in October, of which 46.8 thousand people (+44%) took international flights, and 7.6 thousand (-23%) took domestic flights. The total volume of passenger traffic in the period from January to October 2013 amounted to 514.5 thousand people (21% more than last year), of which the share of international flights is 447.1 thousand (+32%), and 67.4 thousand people (-23%) took domestic flights.

In comparison with the last year’s rates, the total number of departures has decreased by 8 % this month (443 and 479 flights respectively). However, the number of international flights remains high: 300 international flights were operated this October, which is 21 % more than for the same period last year (247). The demand for domestic flights is lower: there were 176 departures in comparison with the last year (24% less than in October 2012). On the whole, there were 3991 departures for the period of January to October 2013, which is 8% less than for the same period of 2012 (4349).

Concerning the popularity rating of flights, the most popular ones, according to October 2013 data, are the following ones: Warsaw (Wizz Air), Vienna (Austrian Airlines), Dubai (flydubai), Kutaisi (Wizz Air), Moscow (Aeroflot, UTair), Istanbul (Pegasus), and Kyiv (UIA, UTair Ukraine).

“International air transportation remains the key area of our activity which ensures stable growth of the passenger traffic. Taking into consideration the demand for this kind of services, the airport will continue to work on expanding the international route map, also by means of introducing budget flights in cooperation with low-cost carriers,” reported the director of Kharkiv International Airport, Vladimir Vasilchenko, to StroyObzor.
