The hotel in the city center has no name yet. Kharkiv, will have first “5-stars” from scratch an Freedom Square.
Last Friday, Kharkiv architects approved the draft of a new five-star hotel on the Freedom Square. Recall that this is the first complex of this class, which is being built in our city from scratch. The hotel will have the business center, casino, Presidential Suite and a restaurant on the top floor under the sky.
The corner at the crossroad of Pravda av. and Trinklera st. was empty for a long time. According to the chief architect of the city Sergiy Chechelnitskiy, only lazy was not planning to build something on this vacant lot over the past 20 years, but it didn`t go further than projects. The most ambitious idea was Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy`s proposal, who wanted to build a "5 stars" hotel there. He started the project later, but the crisis made its adjustments. Now DCH company, owned by businessman, promised to invest in the construction of $ 70-80 million, and by November 2011 to introduce the complex into operation, which wasn`t excluded from the ensemble of constructivism, which is created by buildings on the square - Gosprom and University.
The draft of the business and shopping center with a hotel, underground parking and premises was accepted by the city council. The former wasteland was decided to turn into 10-storey building for a hotel and its two-storey extension, in general, 172 rooms will be built in the hotel. There will also be administrative and business centers. Facade is planning to be built with a glass and stone. "We decided to increase the size of the tower, not raising it, but making the atrium (the premise, the height of which is two or more floors, but without the inter-storey walls. - Ed.). Panoramic lifts will also be in the building” - told one of the sponsors Sergiy Babushkin (in the past - the main Kyiv architect).
Any Kharkiv citizens will be able to get to the hotel. However, only 1, 2nd and 10th floors will be free for entry. On the ground floor the architects planned the retail and entertainment facilities, café, on the first - a restaurant and the hall, which can take large-scale exhibitions. From the second to 9th storey there will be located a hotel, where the outsiders will be denied. At the 9th floor there will be two-bedroom Presidential Suite equipped. On the floor above - a fitness center and restaurant “Sky"overlooking the square. "1st till 10th floors will be available to anyone" - promise the project`s author.
By the way, designing a hotel, Kyiv architects have expressed an unusual desire: to arrange an exit out of the subway next to the hotel. They had no claims to the project itself, then this offer was perceived with hostility, arguing that it`s irrationally to provide separate access for guests. The designer will have to abandon the idea of "own" station. Kharkiv citizens had only one wish regarding the sketch: "to raise" a hotel on several floors, so it was lower than its neighbor - Hotel "Kharkiv". If the work will be performed in the promised time, by the end of 2011, these two hotels will compete for customers.
Hotel Name
Customers have not yet called the name of the operator, who will be given the right to manage the hotel. As well as its name. We recall a few years ago there was talk that the stars in the area will be under American brand Hilton. But because of the crisis, this company seems to be cooled to Kharkiv. It is possible that the operator was found in England and Saudi Arabia: the interior of the hotel are developing by professionals from London and Dubai.
