Foreign experts visited International Airport Kharkiv

The delegation of foreign experts visited Kharkiv International Airport (MAX). The visit was organized with the assistance of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov and the National Agency for the preparation and hosting of Euro-2012. Group was led by Adviser to the Vice-Prime Minister Rudy Vercelli, CEO of Abu Dhabi International Airport, specially invited to Ukraine for training of managers of domestic airports to receive guests of European Football Championship.

The delegation included representatives of the German consulting company GTZ and of the International Airport Munich. Kharkiv local authorities have also delegated representatives to the meeting. Experts examined the various objects of infrastructure of the International Airport "Kharkiv": old and new terminals, airport services, buffer zones, elements of airport infrastructure.

Following the results of visit, foreign experts have expressed satisfaction with what they have seen. For its part, the airport management thanked the delegation for their interest. MAX is sure that such visits will continue, as it allows the use foreign experience to improve the work of the airport, including the processes of constructing an optimal system of management of the facility.

International airport "Kharkiv” (www.airportkharkov.com) - one of the most important objects of Slobozhanshchyna capital, which are being currently renovated under preparation for the finals of European Football Championship 2012. The large-scale project started on 1 April 2008, when the company "New Systems AM (DCH group, the president - well-known Ukrainian businessman, investor and general coordinator of Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012 Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy) won the competition for the rental of a complete property complex of the Kharkiv airport.

The reconstruction project includes the construction of the new terminal, reconstruction of existing one, construction of a new runway and apron repair, improvement of the station square. Technological scheme of passenger services was developed by German company Airport Research Center. After completing the reconstruction Kharkiv citizens and guests of the “first capital” will use modern international airport that can take a variety of aircrafts like the aircraft type Airbus A-320 and Boeing B-737. The new terminal area of more than 20 thousand square meters will increase passenger service to 650 thousand people per year by 2011.
