Kharkiv Tractor Plant
Kharkiv Tractor Plant is a legendary machine-building enterprise with a worldwide reputation. It was founded in 1930. Among the products manufactured by the plant are models of tractors and special vehicles designed for works in agriculture, utilities sector, and construction. For the years of work, the plant has produced more than 3 million tractors and other heavy special-purpose machinery. It has the necessary potential for launching production of military equipment in case of a relevant public procurement.
Before being purchased by DCH in 2016, Kharkiv Tractor Plant was on the verge of closing. Investments of the new owner helped resume production and initiate the process of production capacities modernization. Before February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, the enterprise manufactured 50-100 tractors per month depending on market needs. KhTZ manufacturing facility combined more than 100 Ukrainian enterprises - suppliers of goods and services. The number of employees involved in KhTZ serial tractors production was about 90 ths. persons, or 5% of all workers in the Ukrainian industry.
In 2018, DCH announced Ecopolis KhTZ large-scale project that provided for setting up innovative, educational, medical and service clusters along with the industrial component on the territory of the plant.
After the full-scale Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, KhTZ ended up in the war zone. The territory of the plant is under permanent shelling. Despite these circumstances, KhTZ still maintains its production, power, gas, and water supply of the plant and the city neighborhood.
As much as possible, the plant continues manufacturing tractors for agriculture and critical infrastructure of the country, pays salaries and taxes, and makes everything possible to speed up the victory of Ukraine.
