Yaroslavsky: There are PCR tests for detecting coronavirus in Kharkiv and Kharkiv region for three months

Alexander Yaroslavsky, the owner and president of DCH, asked the city and regional authorities to monitor the situation related to the use of the tests cause not all the doctors have such kind of experience.

The Kharkiv region received a three-month supply of ‘the best in the world tests’ on coronavirus. Now, the authorities must manage it professionally, said Alexander Yaroslavsky, the owner and president of DCH, at a meeting in the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, ‘KP in Ukraine’ publication reported on 24 March.

‘The president’s assignment given to me has been completed: $2 million paid, 450 000 tests are bought for it for Kharkiv. Thanks to my friend Jack Ma [the Chinese businessman], 50 000 tests arrived in Ukraine yesterday, and a sufficient number of them came to Kharkiv. The tests arrived in Kharkiv are the ‘golden standard’ of quality; not every country has them. We ordered a second lot. The tests arrived are enough for three months,’ said Yaroslavsky.

He also noted that he had allocated $2 million to help the region, and local businessmen also funded the purchase of equipment and materials for the city and the region for an additional $2.2 million after a meeting last week. Yaroslavsky emphasized that the money was transferred directly to suppliers, and each got an invoice.

‘I allocated $2 million on behalf of my family, and I paid for 450 000 tests, which will probably arrive by the next plane. After the meeting of Kharkiv city businessmen held earlier, more than $2 million were allocated for the purchase of artificial lung ventilation and a large list of other medical equipment. We completely covered the need of Kharkiv and the region for the necessary medical things. As of today, all the needs of Kharkiv and the region are satisfied. If more is needed, we will collect more,’ said Yaroslavsky.

He asked the city and regional authorities to monitor the situation related to the use of the tests cause not all the doctors have such kind of experience.

‘I ask the governor and the Mayor to organize the professional use of tests because only a few people know how to use these tests and what it is as of today. I answer these questions from morning until night, but I am not a specialist,’ said the businessman.

Oleksiy Kucher, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration thanked Yaroslavsky for participating in fighting the pandemic, 'KP in Ukraine’ reports.

‘We communicate with all the key figures, and I would also like to thank for the tests we received,’ said the head of the region.

Hennadiy Kernes, the Kharkiv city Mayor, stated that the fight against the virus will continue.

‘I want to thank Yaroslavsky for the work and the headquarters that fulfilled its mission, and we continue to work. We continue to fight coronavirus,’ emphasized the Mayor.

Yaroslavsky noted that he also does not stop being in touch and his DCH group continues working on previously launched business projects.

‘This is where my active part stops, but I stay in touch with you round the clock,’ the publishing quotes the businessman, ‘The business works in a regular operation mode. The virus is a virus, but work is ongoing. Today I had a conversation with Alexander Kubrakov [the head of State Highway Service of Ukraine] and ‘Ukravtodor’ is operating as usual. We discussed road construction issues. We also talked with Alexander Bondarenko, the governor of Dnipro city. The processes for the construction of the airport are not suspended. The works on the terminal complex construction project and the construction of the strip are simultaneously developed. All businesses work; KhTZ works with the city on reorienting the first part of the space to the technopolis, which is a $500 million project. Everyone should keep calm and work. And, of course, be considerate towards the situation, but life doesn’t stop here.’
