On August 19, 2008, on the territory of Kharkiv International Airport, there took place a three-party meeting devoted to the preparation of the airport for receiving participants and guests of Euro-2012 Championship.
The meeting was attended by:
- Vladimir Vasilchenko, Director of OOO New Systems AM (DCH Group);
- Peter Hampson, UEFA airports expert;
- Vadim Gurzhos, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications;
- Anatoly Kolesnik, Chief of the Ukrainian State Aviation Administration;
- Petr Lipovenko, expert on airport operation and development on the Executive Management Board of the Football Federation of Ukraine;
- Dmitry Tysyachny, expert on the preparation of airports for Euro-2012;
- Viktor Khristoev, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv;
- Evgeny Vodovozov, Head of Transport and Communications Department of the City Council;
- Aleksey Dunay, Director of Poltava Airport.
In the course of the discussion, the participants of the meeting highly estimated the organization of airport reconstruction works. According to the experts present, in terms of the quality and dynamics of preliminary works, Kharkiv is one of the leaders among Ukrainian cities involved in the preparation for Euro-2012.
Vladimir Vasilchenko emphasized, “The project of Kharkiv International Airport reconstruction is implemented in full compliance with the adopted schedule, and all requisite investment resources have been allocated.”
