Kharkiv Airlines: innovations are the key to success!

Kharkiv Airlines (Aleksandr Yaroslavskiy’s DCH Group) received authorization from the Ukrainian State Air Service to upgrade Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) to Class 2.

Kharkiv Airlines thus became the first airline that passed a test period and employs integrally the
latest-generation iPad-based Class 2 EFB for Boeing aircrafts on the territory of the post-Soviet countries.

Kharkiv Airlines have successfully finished a one year usage period of Lufthansa Systems, Boeing, and Jeppsen products with Class 1 EFB in the framework of long-term contracts between the companies, which involves supplying IT decisions and navigation information to support operational processes in the cockpit known as Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).

Usage experience with Lufthansa Systems, Boeing, and Jeppsen applications has proven them to comply with strict international requirements for the quality of information and the speed of its processing, flexibility and independence of a system from aircraft type, substantial lowering of cost thanks to absence of expenses on printing, timeliness and relevance of data thanks to high level of automation of information updating processes. Most importantly, the automatic data transfer reduces the risks of manual input of errors, and, consequently, increases a flight’s safety.

“Our company pays special attention to implementation of modern technologies which promote quality and safety improvement in strict compliance with international standards,” noted Nikolai Nikitenko, Kharkiv Airlines’ Chair of the Board. “We are also working on other ideas which will help to provide more comfort for our passengers.”
