Second all-Ukrainian Roundtable of National Unity took place at the Kharkiv Palace hotel

The second all-Ukrainian Roundtable of National Unity took place in a conference hall at the Kharkiv Palace hotel on 17 May 2014, in which representatives of various political parties and non-governmental organizations discussed the ways of dealing with the current situation in Ukraine. The former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, the acting Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and others also took part in the meeting. The first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk acted as a moderator.

The key question of the round table’s agenda was consideration of amendments to the Constitution and blueprints of reforms aimed at decentralizing the power, restructuring local authorities, reforming judiciary and law enforcement systems, implementing effective anti-corruption programmes as well as creating proper conditions for peaceful and legal settlement of all conflicts and disputes.

The OSCE representative Wolfgang Ischinger was also present at the meeting and expressed the majority of participants’ opinion by urging Ukrainians to abandon arms in favour of a constructive dialogue.

Summing up the results of this event, organizers noted high quality of the conference service provided by the Kharkiv Palace hotel.
