It Has Become Safer to Fly with Kharkiv Airlines

Kharkiv Airlines (DCH Group owned by Aleksandr Yaroslavsky) has successfully obtained the ETOPS 120 certification. The international standard ETOPS was developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in order to increase safety of long-haul flights. Kharkiv Airlines is the only Ukrainian air company which flies across the Atlantic. Therefore, ETOPS certification is especially important for it.

The ETOPS certification can be obtained only if the design, technical and flight specifications of twin-engine planes fully comply with the standard requirements. Traditionally, the flight route was developed in such a way that the plane always remains within at least 60-minute flight from any of the nearest airports, in case an emergency landing is required. The ETOPS 120 certification means an air plane may fly with one operating engine for at least 120 minutes. It is especially important when the distance between two nearest airports is 2000 km or more. In addition to the safety guarantee, the ETOPS certification enables an air company to increase the quantity of its direct flights, to reduce flight duration, to save fuel, etc.

Kharkiv Airlines is the leader in number of long-haul flights in the domestic market. Today, it provides flights to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Bangkok, Phuket (Thailand), Nha Trang (Vietnam) and Goa (India). The flights are operated by the comfortable Boeing 767-300ER with two classes: business and economy.
